DIY MACHINE REPAIR
6/7/20251 min read

Nothing is worse than scheduling a service and when I arrive find that a part is needed and we have to reschedule your service and order parts.
I work on most brands of embroidery machines. Some parts are universal or can be used on multiple brands of machines and some are unique to a particular machine. I have tried but I cannot keep an adequate supply of spare parts on hand.
If you are waiting on service, please try to have your parts on hand for the repair. We will try to diagnose your machine over the phone and help with any suspected parts but cannot guarantee that that part will be needed.
In this article I list some of the most common parts and suggest some parts that would be good to have on hand.
Suggested Parts: You most likely won't need one of these for each head but it may be a good idea to have one or two sets of parts for maybe every three heads. You know your machine and the issues you are having with them so use common sense when ordering these parts.
Reciprocator: https://www.ajstitch.com/reciprocator - You need to have a couple of these on hand. If some or all of your needles are not coming down or not engageing then you may have a damaged reciprocator that needs replacing.
Rotary hooks: https://www.ajstitch.com/rotary-hooks I would suggest changing out your rotary hook every 3 to 5 years depending on use.
Knife Set: https://www.ajstitch.com/frequently-used-parts - most of the time the knives can be adjusted and made to work.
